Web4 de ago. de 2015 · My tester shows 'open neutral', but it's not. This is a GFI outlet, and it is protecting another outlet downstream, which is working fine. All of the wires test correctly. The only thing I can figure is that the neutral prong in the outlet is not making contact. Odd, though, as both of the outlets on this duplex don't work. At the outlet closest to the breaker box, I'm reading 120 on top, nothing on bottom. When I tie those wires together, I read 88v at the outlet. Light switches are reading 88v.
